Preparing development machines for the future release of ICS-Team Cyanogenmod

ICS(Ice Cream Sandwich) is the largest release in comparison to the other Android versions.
This means that the machines used will be overloaded.
ICS in AOSP will be about twice as large as it was for Gingerbread.

cyanogenmod officials are still willing to take hardware donations, though the requirements are pretty strict:

  • Minimum of 16GB of RAM.
  • Minimum of 8 physical cores (hyper-threading preferred).
  • Fast disks, SSDs are preferred, though SAS drives will do just fine.
  • Server must be located in a datacenter, not your home (some exceptions are made).
  • Minimum of 100Mbit Internet connection.
  • Full root access required.

Exun 2011!

Dear Exunclan,

It was great to be at Exun 2011, after missing 2010.

This year was even more special because I was coming (all the way) from Mumbai! It took me back to my first ever Exun, 2001!

The energy and the enthusiasm are so contagious, that it made me forego my hard-earned (:P) sleep!

Thanks for having me there! and hope to be back soon!

And before i forget, thanks to Raghav Khullar, Aditya Grover, Aditya Jain, Sampoorna Biswas and Ankur Banerjee for helping out with the quiz and crossword. It wouldn’t have been possible without them.

Cheers

Each events’ updates and results were made available online on the exunclan.com immediately after completion of each of the events for the convenience of the participants.

While all the events conducted on the school premises saw a high level of talent and enthusiasm, the highlight of Exun 2011 was its 4 day long (13 Nov- 16 Nov, 2011) online event, SudoCrypt. This event was open to international participation. The first 25 rank holders of SudoCrypt received Expert Sudo International Rank Certificates and the Rank 1 received a HCL ME Pad as special prize.

The events at Exun provided a platform to each tech-enthusiast student to test his/her creative, logical and analytical skills. The host school was non-competitive and the Overall Trophy of Exun 2011 was won by DPS Dwarka. The symposium was a great experience for everyone present. It was coordinated by Mr. Mukesh Kumar, Head of Computer Department and his dedicated team of teachers.
