yes , it true . apple now gives users an official way to boot XP on your mac.
Apple has released “bootcamp ” that lets you install and run the Windows XP operating system on your Mac . its available as a public beta here .

Bootcamp creates CD with all drivers for the hardware and a new partition onto which you can then load windows ( using your own copy ) and you can choose between the two during start up . Just make sure you have an intel mac and enough space on your drive .

apple says this technology will be a feature in its next edition of mac OSX( leopard).

PS – the screen shot says -“pull divider to change size of partition” , sweet !

The elusive ultra-portable device being developed by Microsoft . No not just another hand held but a cross between a treo , blackberry and an ipod . An all in one media solution . The system, as described Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates, would weigh about a pound, feature a battery that could hold a charge for a full day, and integrate a camera, a phone and a music device in a single form factor.
My guess is the next gen office companion full with blutooth , wi-fi , touchscreen and internet . Hopefully this is going to be an actual product and not just a “technology” that Microsoft releases to the industry .

Microsoft has actually planned a media event to be held within hours of the apple event today( where new mac mini and an ipod hi fi was released ) .

Also , Microsoft has announced that there will be 6 versions of vista . No need to worry all the CD’s/DVD’s will be same just a differing serial key will unlock different versions .

Vista Starter — Streamlined version meant for low-powered PCs in developing nations.

Vista Home Basic — For those content to browse the web, use email, and create and edit basic documents from their PC. Includes desktop search and security tools.

Vista Home Premium — Includes everything in Basic but also includes the Aero graphical interface, Media Center functionality, and ability to connect to Xbox 360. The version most of us will own at home.

Vista Business — The basic version for companies of all sizes with tools to help organizations manage their PCs.

Vista Enterprise — Includes everything in the basic business version with improved encryption and BitLocker system to keep data from being read on a stolen computer.

Vista Ultimate — All the features of Home and Business in one. ( the one I hope to get )

An Internet worm that’s been circulating for a couple of weeks is set to destroy files on infected personal computers this Friday, Feb 3.
Symantec has dubbed it ‘W32.Blackmal.E@mm,’ but other security companies have given it different names including ‘Nyxem,’ ‘blackworm,’ ‘Grew.A,’ ‘My Wife’ etc.
The worm is spread by e-mail. It tries to harvest e-mail addresses from infected machines so it may appear to come from someone you know. Unlike many past worms, it is not limited to Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express – all Windows users are vulnerable. It watches your PC’s clock and is set to delete files from infected machines on Feb. 3.
Its not financially motivated , so no back doors , but its set to delete all word , excel , adobe and mp3 files.

Want to make a million dollars….. by sitting in front of a screen …… and just selling pixels ? Well , that’s exactly what this guy ( alex ) here has done.
Yes , he has offered every free pixel of his million dollar homepage (for the price of $1 a pixel , which is apparently cheaper than normal rates causing people from all over the world to just buy even a tiny space on his page for putting up their adds at rates far less than what they normally must be paying .

I must say now why didn’t I think of that ….. selling pixels.

what’s black , white and green with iPod envy ? Creative’s new Zen Vision:M – Macdaily news

The new MP3 30GB player by Creative – the Zen vision:M is almost a mocking copy of the 5G iPod . In almost every respect it seems the guys at creative have copied apple . They didn’t even spare the menu system . The vision has the same 2.5 inch screen and 320X240 resolution as the iPod with video though is does have more codec compatibility like DivX and Xvid. It comes in a horde of diffrent colors ( somthing the iPod doesnt ) and its packed with stuff like a micro-phone and FM tuner but I just don’t like the control buttons . Not to mention is isn’t as sleek as the iPod and one major factor – Apple doesn’t manufacture it !! ( apple fanboy here , flame me all you want)

Apparently these guys have been developing the product for a year and cant be blamed if apple happened to come up with the same system .. they go so far as to say that in 2000 they patented the menu system and plan to sue apple for using it . I’m not too clear on this , but it seems like a legal battle is on its way . But “judge” yourself –
