Intension is not destruction but creative construction

I never wanted to be destructive by creating such viruses but the virus creation idea is making me learn and know that how the viruses exactly work as the coding is the main controlling agent in an activated virus.

All this is done just to examine the working and the remedies which can be taken to get off with this virus.

Creating an anti virus software is an excellent idea and making a successful antivirus software needs some understanding about the coding and structure of viruses and how they actually carry out infection process.I would never end up publicising this virus or throw it round the net so that it infects the other PCs.

I would first make the virus and then develop antivirus tool.This would help people fight against such threats on the net.

After spending so much time on thinking about doing something odd and vigorous, I came up with the idea of developing viruses.Well, I am not a professional virus creator and no one can expect me to do so also,but this project would be an .exe file.

• Deletion of this file would not be possible
• Its main damage causing area would be C:\windows\system
• Operating system will be smashed as it would infect the registry files-Finally the boot sector of the hard disk will get damaged and the first strike would be *MGR(partition table in the computer hard disk).
  

I know,making all this needs heavy and logical coding in VB.Everybody is invited to help me and lets plan to end up with this successfully.After all, our combind efforts will pay and EXUN computer club will come up with a new category – “Virus Mania”

The attached file exactly gives the screenshot of what will happen.This is not the real file but a before hand animation of the overall effect.The only difference is that a virus doesnot tell you what it is doing.This animation is made just to show the steps of damage by labelling every action.

Programming

1 hour to solve 4 logic-based programming questions in C++.

Cartoon Making

You are required to design a 2 minutes long animation film based on the theme “Tom and Jerry on a fun-filled holiday”. (You can also choose any other two cartoons of your choice and complete the situation). Software to be used – Flash 5/MX and Adobe Photoshop 7/7.5. The film is to be burnt on a CD in .jpg format and it should be submitted at the time of registration.

Gaming

Students will be given a computer game that they have to play and achieve the specific goal. The game, the basis of judging and time limit will be given on the spot.

Group Discussion

There will be two 30 minutes preliminary rounds out of which six students will be short listed for a 30 minutes final round. The topic will be given on the spot.

Quiz

This is to identify the best quizzing team out of six teams, who would be short listed on the basis of a 25 questions preliminary round which would be of 30 minutes. The finals would be held onstage in MP Hall with an added Audio/Visual round.

Digital Imaging

You have to create a digital image on the topic-

“One Silver Medal = 100 crores – Indian Olympians at Athens”

Each team is required to get a hard and soft copy of the image on labelled CD in .jpg format and submit it at the time of registration. Image should be as hilarious as possible.

Web Designing

Participants would be asked to create a website on a given topic in 1.5 hours. Image would be provided and FrontPage would be given to create the web site. To create graphics, the participants may use Adobe Photoshop.

PowerPoint Presentation

The students will be required to create a presentation to sell/promote a given product. The product will be given on the spot and related images will be provided.

Movie Making

The students are required to make a 3 minutes long movie on “Child Labour”. The movie should be shot with a digital camera and edited using any movie making software. The movie should be burnt on a CD which is to be submitted at the time of registration. The movie should run on Windows Media Player or QuickTime only.

Good day.

It has been a fair bit of time since I have written, but now I have something to report, so I will report it.

The test was a major success, and we actually needed another lab to fit in all the people that showed up. Class VII appeared to have assembled in great big marshaled companies, and we had to get the papers photocopied twice, as our original expected number was way below the actual attendance. The actual answer-scripts have not been corrected as of now and are currently lying in Mr. Mukesh’s room, which I will take the opportunity to dub “The Vault of Exun”. The results will probably be out on Wednesday.

I expect a good performance from the seventhies, better than the one given by Class VIII students, though admittedly the paper was a bit easier this time.

A Joke in today’s HT City

In computer heaven:

Management is from Intel.

Design and construction from apple(G5 rocks)

Marketing by Microsoft.

Gateway provides support.

Dell determines pricing.

In computer hell:

Management from apple.

Microsoft does design and construction.

IBM handles marketing

Support is from Packard-Bell.

Intel sets the price.

Anyways, the joke relies more on the person’s sense of humour and wishing all lenient teachers a Happy Teacher’s Day.

Does anybody know of good web hosts (free or paid but a free host is preferref) providing PHP support. I also need support for CGI and MySql. Monthly bandwidth is also an important consideration for me. Please tell me about any good hosts.

Note: I don’t want a freeservers.com type of subdomain. I own a domain and I want my website to be hosted.
