There we go. We have two teams in both these, but mind you, so does VK. So, we have good chances of winning!

On the exercise of franchise.

Most people will argue that this entry was better posted as a comment, but that would undermine its importance and that is a risk that I cannot take. In a recent MSN chat with Karan, I have been advised to ask all members to vote for or against the idea of putting a Firefox button on the lnexun home page. In the previous post, this idea was opposed by none other than our sleeping president, Maanick Nangia, on grounds that because Mozilla does not sponsor us we should not have their logo on the homepage.

In my opinion this entire line of thinking is inherently defunct. We are not a corporate entity, we do not have to do everything on a profit only basis. We can and should do things because they are the right thing to do. Remember itÂ’s Exun, not Exun Inc.

Putting a button-link on the front page can hurt no one, but it might do good to a lot of people still stuck on Internet Explorer. Helping the spread of Firefox is just a good old fashioned right thing to do.

I suggested leave your votes as comments. Ayes support, Nays oppose.

Where is the fox?

There is this little thing I noticed, so I’ll mention it. I noticed that lnexun does not have a firefox button on its page, nor for that matter does exunclan.com. About exunclan I can understand, but I really think that the blog should have one. We all (with the exception of Abhisheyk Gaur) like the fox , and it has made most of our online experiences much better, so I propose that we give something back. I request that the blog admins help spread firefox, and TAKE BACK THE WEB.

Banyan Tree School Day 1

Today, three of us namely, Vansh Muttreja(That’s me!) , Rijul Jain and Digvijay Singh went to Banyan Tree School for Innova, the actual computer symposium. Spectrum is the collective name for all cultural events happening in that school. I and Rijul came 2nd in Corel Draw event, where we had to draw Phevos and Athena , the Olympic 2004 mascots. Colouring wasn’t possible due to some defect in Corel Draw. I don’t know about Digvijay’s gaming event though. Tomorrow Digital Imaging, WebD and Software Display is taking place. Best of Luck to the participants!

Banyan Tree School

In the midst of Exun, I lost track of Spectrum 2004 at BTS.

Now, we don’t seem to have anyone for web designing as it’s not an “on the spot” event and no one was able to make a website beforehand. For the rest of the events:

Corel Draw

Vansh

Rijul

Gaming

Digvijay

Digital Imaging

Sanchit

Abhijit

We don’t have any software display team also, so that’s sad. Come on, people. Buck up! Keep website templates ready for competitions and those who know VB or VC++, start making some kind of presentable software for SD competitions.

This list is final as far as I’m concerned. All the people mentioned here have to assemble in front of the Transport Office tomorrow morning at 7.30am because they will be going with the rest of the DPS team. Teacher Incharges, in case you need to contact them, are Suman Takru and Prema Pandey from the English Department.

Exun: Thoughts of a Coordinator

Well as we all know Exun 2004 ended yesterday and was a big success. Needless to say was the contribution of All members who were present on both the days and also of all teachers and non-teaching staff

Thank You All

As for those who weren’t there, try and be there next time.

Although Exun was a success there were a few things missing.

The duties were a bit improperly decided in case of escorts

What we need to do from next time is assign some duties to the little ones after their escort job is done as escorting is just a morning affair

The ones who did a terrific job

Manas: i would say thats a great effort by someone in 9th to manage the whole gaming event. Hats off

All 12thies: They were all doing some kind of work so well theyre all great

All 11thies who were present did a great job with the registration and all

Dhruv and Suri with the web updates were truly efficient

Udit, this friend of mine never refused any work assigned to him

Akul: he is a sincere chap and never refuses work

Abhijit: this tall fellow is also quite a great person to be in exun especially when we have to put banners

Aayush, Vansh and the rest of the 9thy lot were also doing an exceptional job except for some whining here and there

The only 8thys i saw doing work were Saumya, Aviral and Diggi.

Rahul also did work but with too much of whining

Some incidents from exun

Nisheeth over the Walkie-Talkie says:” We need escorts, We need escorts, We need escorts, We need escorts, We need escorts, We need escorts,”

then he goes ” we have too many escorts, does anyone want any”

Basically for anything he needed, he repeated it till he got that thing so we had to switch off our walklie-talkies till then

Then we had Ankit W. who gave me the idea of making funny noises while anyone was saying anything so we had a fun time with that. I also started playing songs. We also heard “khaike Paan banaras wala”

Three cheers for Exun 2004 and 2005 here we come
